Jan Appleton

Jan started her career with 15 years in mainstream education where her most senior role was as Assistant Headteacher in a large Staffordshire secondary school. She was heavily involved in working with young people who were not engaging well in the mainstream setting and focussed on this area in her Masters Studies. She has extensive experience in multi-agency working and has held various leadership and governance positions in the local community. In addition, she fostered teenagers for the local authority over a five-year period. Jan has a passion for seeing young people reach their potential and for breaking the negative cycles within society that can otherwise lead to generational poverty. Her heart is to see young people develop a sense of worth that positively impacts the way they live their lives.
