“This was the best programme that I have been a part of and I am so glad that I had this opportunity. It really helps you build up confidence.”

XL-Mentoring Project

An alternative provision project aimed at Key Stage 3 and 4 students
What's involved?

This project continues to grow and we are seeking funding to ensure we can extend capacity. Students will be matched with a trained community volunteer who will meet with them for 1 hour per week throughout the year. This can be either during the school day as part of their timetable, or outside of the school day to ensure lessons are not interrupted.

Mentors aim to work with students by becoming a trusted adult in their life, helping them to make positive choices that will improve their prospects.

Referrals are taken at any time during the year and if we have a suitable match the support begins.
