Art Teacher (Contractor)

Jo is a dedicated Secondary Art Teacher with 17 years of mainstream teaching experience and 11 years in Alternative Provision, where her true passion lies. Alongside her extensive experience in Secondary Education, she has worked in Community Art and as a practicing artist. Her approach is rooted in compassion, focusing on person-centred and inclusive practices that prioritise connection and relationships.

Believing in the transformative power of art, Jo is committed to helping young people reclaim hope, ambition, and their voices through creativity. Recently, she established her own business, offering bespoke Art Education, Inclusion Facilitation, and Creative Mentoring for those facing challenges and adversity. Additionally, as an associate of an Educational Psychology Service, Jo works as a graphic facilitator, enhancing training programs for schools and care settings.

Jo has recently expanded her business with the addition of Po, her lovable Australian Labradoodle, who is set to provide emotional and therapeutic support in her work. In her spare time, Jo enjoys exploring nature, practicing yoga, creating ceramics, and spending quality time with her family and animals.
